London Bagel Museum Review

What London bagel museum Really Is

Despite its name, London bagel museum has no connection to the UK and is not an actual museum.
The founder simply chose words that matched the mood she loved.
She is so devoted to bagels that she reportedly stopped eating rice which is Korea’s staple food more than ten years ago to focus on quality testing.
Interestingly, foreigners often outnumber Koreans inside, and English menus and bilingual staff make ordering easy.

Waiting System & Real Experience

Waiting is managed through a tablet at the entrance where you register your phone number and party size.
When your turn approaches, you receive a message, so there is no need to stand in line physically.
I arrived around 11 a.m. on a weekday, and the wait was far shorter than expected.
Dine-in and takeout lines are separated, and takeout customers often enter immediately.

Free Welcome Tea

One charming detail at London bagel museum is the complimentary welcome tea.
I visited in December, and that warm cup made the cold air disappear instantly.

Best 10 Bagels You Should Try

With so many items on the menu, choosing can feel overwhelming, so I recommend starting with these top sellers.

  • Potato Cheese
  • Spring Onion Sandwich
  • Brick Lane
  • Salt Butter
  • Cheese Honey
  • Garlic Butter
  • Jambon Butter
  • Plain Original

Most blogs rank Brick Lane #1, Potato Cheese #2, and Bacon Potato Sandwich #3.

I tried the Truffle Butter Bagel and the Potato Cheese Bagel, and for someone like me who prefers mild and savory flavors, they were an excellent choice.

Soup & Cream Cheese & Drinks

London Bagel Museum doesn’t just serve bagels, they also offer a wide variety of coffee and tea that pair perfectly with them.
For something more comforting, you can also order soup. On the day I visited, the “Today’s Soup” options were Mushroom Truffle Soup and Tomato Rosée Soup.

One thing that really stood out to me was that you can purchase their cream cheese separately, without buying a bagel. Since I live in Daegu, I have to travel to another city like Seoul or Jeju if I want to visit London Bagel Museum in person. But being able to take home their cream cheese means I can enjoy it with bagels at home anytime, which I absolutely love.

Takeout, Storage & Reheating Tips

Fresh bagels can stay at room temperature for 1–2 days.
For longer storage, freeze them in zip bags and consume within 1–2 weeks.
Thaw naturally and reheat lightly in an oven for near-fresh texture.
This method preserves flavor remarkably well.

Goods Shop

London Bagel Museum Goods Shop

The in-house goods shop sells adorable lifestyle items featuring the brand’s signature horse character.
It adds another layer of enjoyment to the visit.
Many people leave with both food and souvenirs.

The 2025 Employee Overwork Death Controversy

On July 16, 2025, a male employee in his 20s named Jung Hyo-won, who worked at the Incheon branch of London Bagel Museum, was found dead from what has been widely reported as death due to overwork at the company-provided dormitory.

At the time of his death, he had reportedly been working nearly 80 hours per week and suffering from severe stress.

Before his death, he shared messages with a friend describing his condition.
He wrote, “I worked 21 hours again today,” expressing extreme exhaustion, and added that he was “not even able to eat properly.”

After the case became public, London Bagel Museum released an official apology through its official channels, stating that “on-site management was inadequate” and offering “deep condolences to the bereaved family.”

However, the statement did not clearly address the core issue of whether the employee’s death was directly related to overwork.

Further controversy arose when the company claimed that some work records could not be verified due to “fingerprint scanner errors,” while the bereaved family argued that the company failed to properly disclose the employee’s working-hour records.

The conflicting statements have sparked significant public criticism and concern.
